If I place a piece of gold for all to enjoy and someone steals it, I have to go digging for another piece. And if it is stolen again, once again, I must dig for another. In the end, it becomes a heavy affair. We dig, we get. We dig, we give.
When someone dies, all their gold eventually goes to someone else. Only their bones remain, an element on the periodic table, just like gold.
It’s not what we get, but what we go digging for in the first place. Digging for experiences and memories, those are priceless in comparison to gold. Those are the true gold, the true luster of the diamond. Those we get to keep and take with us for eternity.
So, it’s not so much what of this earth we get, but what we go digging for in the first place. It’s what we get to take with us when our bodies return to elemental form.
For we are eternal. We just forgot. Memories experienced, they are the gold we seek, the creation, the element we get to keep always, and give away.
What do we dig for and where? When we find it, do we keep it, horde it, give it away, or sell it for something else in return, keeping something else to leave behind that can only stay here?
What do we dig for? What do we find? What do we keep? What do we sell? What do we trade? What do we lose? What do we give away? What do we truly keep?
When we dig for treasures within the soul to give away, those experiences, those nuggets of gold discovered, shared with others, gifted with open hands, others receive treasures of never end. For to give from the heart is to receive gold for eternity. For to receive from the heart, is to meet a gold miner. Are you a gold digger? If so, what nuggets of eternity have you given away?
